Laura Poppel is an associate in BLG's Corporate Commercial Litigation and Arbitration group in the Calgary office. Laura practices general commercial litigation, with a focus on oil and gas litigation, electricity market prosecutions, and representing financial institutions in banking litigation, including bills of exchange and Ponzi scheme claims. Laura also regularly represents clients involved in contractual and shareholder disputes, and disputes involving director and officer liability.
Laura has extensive experience with regulatory proceedings before the Alberta Utilities Commission has been lead counsel in several Provincial Court proceedings and Court of Queen's Bench hearings. Laura has also appeared before the Court of Appeal.
