Shannon's experience includes representing clients in the transportation industry in both contractual and negligence disputes and representing corporations and individuals in the areas of Breach of Contract litigation, Construction litigation and Shareholder disputes. Shannon regularly appears before the Court of Queen's Bench and the Provincial Court of Alberta.
•Represented and advised national and regional airline carriers in contractual and negligence disputes.
•Acts in shareholder disputes, including oppression remedies and applications under the Alberta Business Corporations Act.
•Extensive oral advocacy experience, having appeared at over 75 applications before the Masters and Justices of the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta, including a number of special chambers applications.
•Second-chaired a Court of Queen's Bench trial and won, resulting in one of the largest damages awards in Alberta for the type of case, which was confirmed on appeal.
Shannon presents many in-house and client requested seminars on a variety of substantive and procedural topics.
Shannon is a regular contributor to the Canadian Bar Association publication, Law Matters, on the topics of health and well-being.
