Kathleen M. Mills is an attorney in the Firm’s Employment Law & Labor Relations and Litigation Groups. Ms. Mills’ practice includes advice, counseling and defense in all employee-related areas, recruitment through termination. With both in-house and law firm experience, she brings decades of employment law expertise to assist clients with the full panoply of personnel matters, from individual situations — where she understands the need for prompt answers — to the development of general employment policies, best practices and employee manuals and handbooks. In addition to counseling management about compliance with applicable law and regulations, she creates and presents training programs for corporate management and staff, and meets with supervisors to discuss myriad topics, concerns and developing legal issues. Ms. Mills manages federal and state Department of Labor (OSHA, MSHA, FLSA, EBSA, ERISA, OWBPA, WARN, MWA, WPCA, and UC) matters, defends federal and state discrimination (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA and PHRA) complaints and assists clients in developing effective compliance strategies. Her experience encompasses federal and state administrative agencies, including EEOC, DoL, DoJ, and PHRC, and federal and state courts.
