Melvin Burruss is an attorney here at Miller Law Group and a man of many talents. Mr. Burruss earned his Juris Doctorate (JD) from Florida State University College of Law, however, this was not his first professional degree, or career. Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. Burruss received his Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of California-Berkeley, and was awarded a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Stanford University School of Business.
Before joining Miller Law Group Mr. Burruss was involved in developing housing in New York City, Westchester, Orange, and Putnam Counties. He has extensive experience in the mortgage banking and investment fields, having worked for major Wall Street banking and investment firms. As an adjunct professor at the University of Texas-Arlington, he taught business and marketing management. Mr. Burruss served also in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged, and awarded the National Defense Medal and Viet Nam Service Medal. Mr. Burruss’ dedication, advocacy and commitment to the community and our clients are fundamentals of his character causing him to be recognized and awarded by numerous organizations.
In addition to his many accomplishments, Mr. Burruss is the producer and host of the award winning local cable television law program, The Neighborhood Law Center Inc., which airs in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Orange counties. The program educates local residents about the legal issues and their rights and responsibilities within the legal system.
