Biography

Peter R. Bulmer is a Principal in the Chicago, Illinois, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He represents management nationwide in all facets of employment and labor law.

Mr. Bulmer counsels management on employment matters and preventive measures to avoid litigation and, where litigation cannot be avoided, he defends employers before state and federal administrative agencies and courts. He also represents employers in prosecuting and defending claims of unlawful competition.

Mr. Bulmer is a featured speaker and author on employment law topics and a past chair of a national association of labor and employment lawyers.

While attending law school, Mr. Bulmer was Editor-in-Chief of the Creighton Law Review. He was a volunteer with the Peace Corps in Zaire, Africa, from 1981 to 1983.

Defying claims that bi-partisanship in Congress is dead, the United States Senate has passed the Defend Trade Secrets Act by a vote of 87-0. The measure, approved by the upper chamber on April 4, goes to the House of Representatives, which is considering a very similar bill with sponsorship from both sides of the aisle.
