In addition to litigating employment discrimination claims, Ms. Capizzi’s current practice includes advising employers on day-to-day matters in the area of labor and employment law with an emphasis on effectively managing risks associated with legal and regulatory issues arising under local, state, and federal laws, including Title VII and state discrimination laws, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and state wage and hour disputes, NLRA, and OSHA and Workplace Safety. Through a combination of education, training, and day-to-day counseling services, Ms. Capizzi helps her clients identify and understand their unique legal obligations and risks, implement policies and procedures to minimize the threat of employment claims, and strategically manage their workforce to be legally compliant while also achieving business goals and objectives. Ms. Capizzi also routinely conducts independent investigations on matters such as harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, and audit-based investigations on matters of wage and hour and general legal compliance.
