Fluent in French, at university, he followed a double degree programme of King's College, University of London and l'Université de Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne. He graduated in 1995 with an LL.B (Hons.) degree as well as a Maîtrise en droit privé mention droit français et anglais, was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1996 and was admitted as an Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public, Colombo in 2000. He also speaks Sinhalese and German and also has a reasonable understanding of Spanish. He acts as: Official Lawyer of the Swiss Embassy, Colombo. Avocat Conseil of the French Embassy, Colombo. Trusted lawyer of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Colombo. Publications -1997 to date - Sri Lanka Chapter for the FT Law and Tax's "Trade Marks Trade Names and Unfair Competition". 2000 to date - contributed the Sri Lanka section of the Matthew Bender publication on "Enforcement of Foreign Judgments" in countries across the globe. 2003 to date - contributed to the Sri Lanka section of the E-PAT portal on patent laws and practice of the countries of the world. 2005 - contributed the Sri Lanka Chapter in the book entitled "International Debt Recovery" published by Carswell, Division of Thomson Canada Limited. 2005 - contributed the Sri Lanka section in the International Chamber of Commerce's Counterforce network's publication "IP Enforcement Guide". 2005 - contributed the Sri Lanka Chapter in the book "Manual - Industrial Property, Manual for the Handling of Applications for Patents, Trademarks and Designs" published by Kluwer law International B.V. 2005 - contributed the Sri Lanka section of the IPInstaLaw database published by LexisNexis. 2006 - contributed the Sri Lanka section for the Sweet and Maxwell Publication on "Trademarks: International Law & Practice". 2007 - contributed the Sri Lankan section for the International Bar Association's Guide on Takeovers and Mergers. 2007 - contributed the Sri Lankan section to Thompson's "Patents Throughout the World and Design and Utility Models throughout the World." 2007 - contributed an article on Sri Lankan trademark law to the publication "Getting the Deal Through - Trademarks 2008". 2008 - contributed Articles on the Landlord and Tenant and the Inheritance Laws of Sri Lanka to the Internet based publication "Global Property Guide". 2008 - contributed the Sri Lanka section to INTA's Trademark Cancellation Guide. 2009 - contributed the Sri Lanka Chapter to the publication "Product Liability in the Asia Pacific Region" published by The Federation Press Pty Ltd. 2011 - contributed the Sri Lanka chapter for INTA's Trademark Oppositions Guide. Currently working on a Kluwer monologue on the IP laws of Sri Lanka.
