  • In a low profile matter of great importance, the California legislature passed and Governor Schwarzenegger signed on September 8, 2005, AB 1093, effective January 1, 2006. The new legislation amends California Labor Code Section 515.5. It will permit California employers of software engineers, computer programmers and other software employees who are exempt under Labor Code Section 515.5 to be paid on a salary basis.
