Leslie attended the University of San Francisco School of Law. While at USF, Leslie served as the president of the Women’s Law Association and competed on the USF Advanced Trial Team, placing second in the annual San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association Mock Trial Competition. Leslie has received extensive litigation training, competing in the Intensive Advocacy Program hosted by National Institute for Trial Advocacy. There, she received the John L. Brennan Award, which is given to the competitor who showed the most creativity and innovation in advocacy.
Leslie’s previous work experiences include certified clerkships with the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office and the Workers’ Compensation Division of the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office. Leslie also spent a semester doing clinical work with the USF Employment Law Clinic, one of the most comprehensive of its kind in the United States. There, she represented clients in administrative hearings before the Merit Systems Protection Board and in wage and hour hearings before the San Francisco Labor Commissioner. Before entering law school, Leslie spent five years working in the Office of Legal Affairs at the UC Berkeley Campus.
