  • The late Dean Prosser, one of the most widely recognized tort law scholars, wrote, “[A] really satisfactory definition of a tort is yet to be found - Broadly speaking, a tort is a civil wrong, other than breach of contract, for which the court will provide a remedy in the form of an action for damages.” This definition is helpful because it narrows the focus of this article, which will discuss civil (non-criminal) claims facing plumbing professionals that are not contractual in nature.
