Hello. I am Jane B. Cox. I am a Family Law Attorney since 2012, and Mediator since 2017. I am the Senior Associate for Teddi Ann Barry, P.C. and manage our South Metro operations from Castle Rock, Colorado. I am a Family Law and Estate Planning Attorney. I also handle probate and collections matters.
I am experienced and compassionate about the work we do helping families. I work diligently to achieve positive results amicably. When negotiated resolution is not possible, I litigate zealously on behalf of our clients and strive to legally protect the parties’ children when they cannot agree what parenting plan is in the best interests of their children. Translating the legal balance between firm and fair, for our clients, is the best service we can offer.
I am formerly a family law paralegal, have worked in the Attorney General’s office, and with the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center, working with children in Dependency and Neglect cases in Jefferson County, and with children whose parents are subject to civil protection order proceedings in Denver.
I received my law degree from University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2012. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Miami. I grew up in Champaign, Illinois and have been living & active in the Castle Rock community since 2003.
By Myers Briggs standards, I am an ISFJ – Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, Judging. ISFJs are sometimes referred to as Protector personalities because of their interest in keeping people safe and well cared for. ISFJs are industrious caretakers, loyal to traditions and organizations. They are practical, compassionate, and caring, and are motivated to provide for others and protect them from the perils of life. (**as described in truity.com**)
According to Kiersey, I am an Idealist. “Idealists are naturally drawn to working with people, and whether in education or counseling, in social services or personnel work, in journalism or the ministry, they are gifted at helping others find their way in life, often inspiring them to grow as individuals and to fulfill their potentials. Idealists are sure that friendly cooperation is the best way for people to achieve their goals. Conflict and confrontation upset them because they seem to put up angry barriers between people. Idealists dream of creating harmonious, even caring personal relations, and they have a unique talent for helping people get along with each other and work together for the good of all. Highly ethical in their actions, Idealists hold themselves to a strict standard of personal integrity.”
I am committed to helping families in transition. My focus is on creative problem solving, and finding solutions to the real and difficult issues that impact families in divorce, and in the years that follow.
I am active in the Colorado Bar Association Family Law Section, the Douglas-Elbert County Bar Association, and the Colorado Women’s Bar Association. I was honored as the Douglas-Elbert Young Lawyer of the Year in 2015. I also coach the Mock Trial team at Douglas County High School.
In addition to my work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy reading, travel, music and just about anything with my dogs.I believe that Teddi Ann Barry, P.C. is a great choice for anyone experiencing divorce or needing family law help because we use a team approach to apply compassion and caring in advocating for our clients’ interests, and their children’s well-being, through creative problem-solving.
