Biography

Lisa Panah is a Principal in the firm’s healthcare corporate and regulatory practice. She focuses her practice on advising hospitals and other healthcare providers on healthcare regulatory compliance, corporate and transactional matters, including providing legal guidance in business transactions related to fraud and abuse, Stark law and tax exemption law compliance.

Ms. Panah is licensed to practice law in Michigan, Illinois and the U.S. District Court of Eastern Michigan. She is active in several professional organizations, and has held leadership positions, including serving as the Chair of the State Bar of Michigan, Health Care Law Section. Ms. Panah regularly contributes to the firm’s annual publication, The Michigan Legal Update, and makes presentations on healthcare regulatory issues affecting healthcare providers. In 2006, Ms. Panah created a Health Law Index, a resource for individuals and organizations interested in Michigan health law issues, which is posted on the Health Care Law Section website.

Ms. Panah is AV Peer Review Rated by LexisNexis/Martindale Hubbell. The AV Peer Review rating is the highest rating allowed. It attests to a lawyer’s legal ability and professional ethics, and reflects the confidential opinions of the Bar and the Judiciary.

Ms. Panah has been annually named a Michigan Super Lawyer in Health Law since 2007. Only five percent of the attorneys in the state are named Super Lawyers. In addition, she has been voted as one of DBusiness Magazine’s Top Lawyers in health care law in 2010, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Ms. Panah has also been named a Leading Lawyer in Health Law by the Leading Lawyers Michigan Advisory Board since 2014. In addition, she was selected to the 2015 Class of Fellows by the Health Care Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.

Ms. Panah received her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School and an L.L.M. in Health Law from DePaul University College of Law. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Michigan.
