Doug rejoined RMRF as Counsel after retiring as General Counsel and Secretary of PCL Constructors Inc. Prior to joining PCL , Doug practiced for almost 30 years with RMRF in the areas of construction law, corporate and commercial law, insolvency law and banking law. He has appeared before all levels of the courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada.

Doug currently serves as Chancellor of the University of Alberta and Chair of the University of Alberta Senate.
