I am a Calgary lawyer practicing exclusively in the area of criminal defence with Savage Oykhman Law. I am empathetic, driven, and passionate about advocating on behalf of my clients facing criminal charges.I received my Bachelor of Law from the University of Calgary with the following distinctions: Dean's List Standing Cecilia Johnston Equality AwardGary J Bigg Memorial Award in Advocacy Represented the University of Calgary at the Gale Cup Moot CompetitionI am an active member of Student Legal Assistance, a non-profit poverty law clinic committed to access to justice in the Calgary area. Within Student Legal Assistance, I previously worked as an articling student, acted as Student Director of the organization during law school, and volunteered as a student legal caseworker and group leader while excelling in my legal studies. I was also integral in the development of the Criminal Justice Clinical Program offered through Student Legal Assistance, which provides advocacy for individuals incarcerated in Alberta Federal Penitentiaries. I am currently pleased to be able to give back to the organization as a volunteer lawyer at evening clinics. Prior to studying law, I graduated from the University of Victoria with distinction, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a minor in Film Studies. I subsequently received a Master of Arts in Political Science from McMaster University, where I maintained a 4.0 grade point average throughout my term of study.
