Biography

Geoff Hope sits on the firm Executive Committee, and is past-Chair of both the Labour and Employment and General Litigation Practice Groups in our Edmonton office. His practice focuses on Labour and Employment and General Litigation matters. His litigation practice includes particular emphasis on commercial lawsuits and arbitrations, product liability litigation, construction disputes, business and shareholder disputes, and professional negligence claims. In his labour and employment practice, Geoff represents clients at the Labour Relations Board, in labour arbitrations and before the Alberta Human Rights Commission, as well as advising and representing employers in managing all aspects of their employment relationships, including terminations, accommodation, corporate policy, and competition issues. Geoff also serves as a legal advisor to Canada's second largest university and various other colleges and universities in matters involving institutional policy, labour relations, human rights, contract matters, employment issues and administrative practice and procedure.

Geoff is committed to providing his clients with timely and practical advice and representation necessary to achieve constructive and cost-effective solutions to their legal issues. He has appeared before all levels of the Alberta Courts, as well as before the Alberta Labour Relations Board and various administrative tribunals. Geoff is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Edmonton Bar Association and has sat on various CBA committees.
