Peter's experience includes cases involving complicated litigation involving technical issues, construction disputes, both for owners and contractors, products liability, shareholder disputes, estate and trust issues and various aspects of commercial disputes.
Peter has over 40 years of experience in all aspects of the oilsands including: the negotiation and preparation of project agreements; purchase and sale agreements of joint venture interests; providing general legal advice to owners and government with respect to oilsands royalty issues; and he has acted as counsel with respect to a variety of litigation concerning oilsands projects.
Peter's experience includes successful mediations and out-of-court settlements for some of the largest lawsuits in Alberta.

•Acted on behalf of a contractor in a breach of contract claim against the owners of an oilsands project and was successful in obtaining a judgment, in excess of $27 million, upheld on appeal
•Acted for the owner of a utility plant in a professional negligence dispute with the engineers and their insurer. Case settled at mediation
•Defends companies with respect to OHS prosecutions
•Represented an oilsands company facing OHS charges arising from the collapse of a steel structure resulting in multiple fatalities
•Represented a drilling company in relation to OHS charges arising from an explosion at a well site resulting in a fatality
•Represented a utility company facing OHS charges in respect of a fatality as a result of electrocution by contact with an overhead power line
•Provided advice to Government on various oilsands royalty issues
•Acted as arbitrator with respect to an oilsands royalty dispute
•Appointed by Ministerial order as a member of Oilsands Dispute Review Committees
•Acts as advisor to the board of directors of an electric utility company
