  • On March 5, 2010, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit affirmed a lower court’s holding that, under the terms of a purchase agreement, the subsequent owner of a former paper mill assumed liability for mercury contamination allegedly created by a previous owner’s paper manufacturing activities.
