  • Louisiana LNG Energy LLC (LLNG) has filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to export up to two million metric tons per year of LNG from a proposed terminal on the Mississippi River, south of New Orleans in Plaquemines Parish, La. LLNG requests authority to export the LNG for a 25-year period to nations having a free trade agreement (FTA) with the United States requiring national treatment for trade in natural gas. LLNG states that it expects to initiate the FERC pre-filing environmental review process for construction of the terminal in May 2014.
