Doubts arose with regard to imposition by energy companies of the obligation for micro- and small generation products to be installed in the presence of a certified installer. Therefore, as per the position of the Energy Regulatory Office, the actions of energy companies that make installation of micro- and small generation products contingent on the presence of a certified installer have no legal basis.
To hold a certificate is only an additional qualification; it is not in any way an obligation. However, it has to be noted that obtaining a certificate may prove to constitute an added advantage that will increase the credibility of the person involved in installation of micro- and small generation products.
