  • Most people buying gasoline have only a vague idea of where the gas that flows through the pump comes from. Likely they think there is a tank underground somewhere that dispenses the magic elixir that makes their cars able to go to the mall, drive for a hamburger at some fast food joint, or to sit in traffic wondering how you got into this mess and when will it all go away. But in fact, gasoline (and other hazardous substances) are now stored in vessels of significant complexity. Indeed they are a far cry from storage facilities of the late 1800’s and still a far cry from those typically found well into the 1980’s.
