A third-party witness is no longer required to get a divorce in Maryland.
Effective October 1, 2016, the testimony of the moving party is sufficient, making it easier to obtain a divorce. This revision of the law does away with the past requirement to have an independent third-party witness corroborate a plaintiff’s testimony.
