  • On Wednesday and Thursday of this week, the Senate passed seven amendments to the pending financial reform bill, S. 3217, and rejected three others. The amendments touch on at least two of the most public and controversial issues: abolition of the too-big-to-fail doctrine and consumer protection, as well as other matters. All of the approved amendments were passed with wide margins or by voice votes.
