• Fed Gov. Tarullo Discusses Oversight of Asset

  • According to a recent article, Federal Reserve Governor Daniel Tarullo, speaking at an Institute of Finance conference, highlighted what he believes is the need for increased oversight of asset managers with a focus on regulation of the industry rather than on individual firms. Previously, Tarullo had raised the question of whether particular large asset managers could pose systemic risks. While he hasn’t ruled out focusing on specific firms, Tarullo stated that risks arising for asset managers are “likely to be a market-wide phenomenon”.
