Ms. Schmucker earned her Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Florida International University, Miami, Florida, then taught English at both Miami Dade County Public Schools and Miami Dade College until she relocated to Indiana to attend law school. While in law school, Ms. Schmucker worked at the Notre Dame Legal Aid Clinic representing clients in cases involving mortgage foreclosure and mortgage fraud issues. After law school, Ms. Schmucker clerked for Judge Kathleen Lang in LaPorte County Superior Court. She then joined the Office of the Indiana Attorney General as a Deputy Attorney General in the Licensing Enforcement and Homeowner Protection Unit where she enforced real estate related licensing laws in administrative proceedings before multiple licensing boards and enforced consumer protection laws regarding fraud or deceptive practices in the areas of real estate, home loans, and foreclosure consultant services. She later began practicing insurance defense litigation in Indianapolis until she relocated to Southwest Florida after being admitted to the Florida bar.
Ms. Schmucker has experience with handling all stages of litigation, from early investigations and successful mediations to arbitrations and trials, including jury and bench trials as well as hearings before licensing boards and administrative law judges.
