Corey E. Schmidt, Of Counsel, joined HPM&B in 2008. Since 1990, he has been defending malpractice and general liability cases, representing private, institutional and municipal defendants in all aspects of litigation.

Corey recognizes the professional and personal burden imposed on the clients in defending a lawsuit, which is best served by being a strong advocate for the client and working towards an expedient resolution of the case. He has long believed that the client is an integral part of the defense team, and works closely with the clients on defense strategy, liability analysis, and risk management.

Verdicts & Cases: Defense Verdict in Kings County Dental Malpractice Case Plaintiff was a 55-year-old female who claimed that our client improperly prepared her teeth for crown and bridge restorations and that the restorations were ill-fitting and inadequate. She claimed that she was not adequately restored to proper occlusion. As a result, the plaintiff claimed that she suffered loss of teeth, impairment of speech, difficulty in eating and emotional distress. She further claimed that she needed a complete full mouth restoration by a subsequent dentist, for which she incurred over $26,000 in out-of-pocket expenses.
