  • On December 31, President Bush signed into law the "OPEN Government Act of 2007," Pub. L. No. 110-175, which amends the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in a number of ways that strengthen the government's disclosure obligations, make it easier for requesting parties to recover attorneys' fees in suits brought to enforce FOIA's disclosure requirements, and raise issues for government contractors, grantees and other entities that generate or store documents for the government.
