John was born in Helena, Montana. He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Montana and his law degree from the University of Montana School of Law in 1970. He spent five years in the Army Judge Advocate General Corp. During that time he tried approximately 150 court-marshals with a high percentage of them before a jury composed of officers and enlisted members.
John is presently serving as "of counsel" for the law firm. John actively practiced law for over 40 years and is a founding member of the firm. During the latter years of his practice, he primarily specialized in Medical Malpractice, representing doctors and hospitals throughout the state of Montana.
John has been active in Great Falls in youth sports, housing for the developmentally disabled and Rotary Club. He was a teaching tennis pro for three years and continues to compete in tournaments on a local, state and national level.
