Edward G. Imperatore, Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s Hackensack, New Jersey office, is a transactional and litigation attorney with more than 30 years' experience in New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Imperatore has had wide experience in such diverse practice areas as labor law, having been significantly involved in settling the 88-day New York newspaper strike in 1978, commercial litigation, handling a wide variety of matters in state and federal courts and numerous other tribunals primarily in New York and New Jersey, and commercial transactions of all kinds, particularly real estate. He also assisted members of his family in commencing the trans-Hudson ferry service in 1986, and in acquiring, developing and selling major properties in Manhattan, on the New Jersey waterfront and elsewhere.

Representative Matters: Advised on the acquisition of the New York Daily News by Mort Zuckerman and Fred Drassner in 1991 and handled all aspects of News' relocation to New Jersey, including public finance, real estate and land use matters.; Significantly involved in restoring trans-Hudson ferry service, now transporting some 45,000 passengers per day.; Acquired (with Arthur E. Imperatore, Sr. and Chicago developers Jerrold Wexler and Edward Ross) for three remaining Manhattan development parcels for $2.9 Million opposite the Javits Center and managed Partnerships owning parcels for 34 years with actual and expected gross returns in excess of $250 Million.; Handled re-zoning and permitting of numerous properties in Manhattan and New Jersey for mixed-use projects.; Prepared large Hudson River property in West New York and Weehawken, New Jersey for intense mixed-use development, including handling real estate, land use, environmental and regulatory matters.; Negotiated, prepared and finalized the labor contract that ended the 88-day strike by Pressmen against the New York City newspapers in November 1978.
