Peter J. Scandariato concentrates his practice in the areas of planning, zoning and land use, including interaction with federal, state and local environmental and regulatory agencies, real estate acquisition, financing and development, commercial transactions, general commercial litigation, real property tax appeals, local government law and representation of municipal governing bodies and land use agencies.

Mr. Scandariato has over 30 years of experience representing private clients, municipalities and public entities in the State of New Jersey. He has served as Bergen County Counsel, the chief legal officer for the County of Bergen and Counsel to the County Executive. Mr. Scandariato has also served as Attorney to the Paramus Planning Board, Special Tax Appeal Counsel to the City of Garfield, Counsel to Bergen Pines County Hospital and Special Counsel to the Bergen County Department of Health Services. He presently serves as Attorney to the Borough of Haworth, New Jersey and the Mahwah, New Jersey Planning Board.

Representative Matters: Represented the Purchaser of a fully tenanted office building and parking garage in Jersey City for the purchase price of $78,000,000.00 financed by mortgage loans from two Israeli insurance companies and the assumption of the Seller's $40,000,000.00 mortgage.; Represented the Purchaser of a fully tenanted office building in Secaucus for the purchase price of $56,000,000.00, financed by member mortgage loans and the assumption of the Seller's $50,000,000.00 mortgage.; Represented the Sponsor in the conversion of a 26 story high-rise apartment building in Jersey City to a residential/commercial condominium and in the closings of title to the individual condominium units.; Represented the Mahwah Planning Board in four related litigation matters before the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division challenging the adoption of an Ordinance creating an Overlay Zone for the 100+ acre International Crossroads site.; Represented the Mahwah Planning Board in litigation before the Superior Court of New Jersey Law Division and Appellate Division challenging the adoption of a series of ordinances dating back to 2000 which attempted to rezone certain non-residential areas within the Township of Mahwah.
