  • On Wednesday, March 16, 2005, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released two new guidance documents. The first provides additional guidance on long term care pharmacy access standards and contracting requirements. The second document explains CMS' expectations with respect to a prescription drug plan sponsor's responsibilities for managing transitions from one formulary to another when beneficiaries enroll (or are automatically enrolled) in a new Part D plan or are moving from one level of care to another.
