  • On November 30, 2009, the Ontario government passed Bill 179, the Regulated Health Professions Statute Law Amendment Act. The purpose of the Bill, as set out by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, is to increase access to health care by broadening the scope of practice of various health care practitioners. Effectively, the changes will allow practitioners to provide a broader range of services than those currently permitted.
