  • As part of its effort to reduce the amount of pharmaceuticals that are being discharged to the nation’s rivers, streams, and other water bodies, the Environmental Protection Agency has prepared a draft guidance document outlining “Best Management Practices for Unused Pharmaceuticals at Health Care Facilities.” EPA acted in response to recent studies that found measurable levels of a surprising number of pharmaceuticals in our drinking water supplies and other surface waters.
