Maurine received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where she was a Caruthers fellow and a Scholar of Merit. She also served as a Junior Editor and Copy Editor of the Cumberland Law Review and as the Director of the James O. Haley Federal Trial Competition for the Cumberland Trial Board.
From 2010-2012, Maurine was an active member of Cumberland's National Trial Team, during which time she was an advocate on the winning teams for the Tournament of Champions National Trial Competition and both the Regional and National Trial Competitions for the American Association of Justice. In 2012 she was the recipient of the Papantonio Trial Advocacy Award and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Scholarship. Prior to attending Cumberland, Maurine received her B.A., cum laude, from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.
