Biography

Armando Gonzalez focuses his practice on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on the oil, gas and energy industry. He is board-certified in oil, gas and mineral law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Armando has experience in multiple areas of the energy industry, including domestic and international energy transactions, acquisitions and divestitures, production and development, land titles, and due diligence.

Prior to joining the firm, Armando gained valuable insight working with a publicly traded international oil and gas company on energy transactions in Latin America. He also assisted clients with all facets of their exploration and production activities while working as an associate in the energy section of a nationally known law firm in Houston.

Significant Representations: Represented a U.S. energy company in three public tenders issued by Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission for transportation of natural gas from the U.S. to Mexico.; Represented owner and operator in building, financing and obtaining necessary DOE approvals for an LNG export terminal in South Texas to export up to 4MTA, including their negotiations with the port, feed gas suppliers, offtakers and public stakeholders in South Texas.; Represented numerous independent oil and gas producers in connection with the acquisition and financing of producing properties in various U.S. shale plays including negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements, joint operating agreements, farmout agreements and lease conveyance documents.; Represented oil and gas producer in connection with the acquisition and financing of an oil and gas lease package in Texas, including drafting a joint operating agreement, reviewing numerous drilling and division order title opinions, lease and lease assignments, surface contracts, and environmental agreements.; Represented the Government of The Republic of Equatorial Guinea with their energy dicussions and negotiations in Spanish and English with counterparties, including restructuring numerous production sharing agreements.; Represented the largest Polish petroleum corporation in a multimillion dollar acquisition of an energy company with international and domestic assets.; Represented a publicly traded oil and gas company in the $300 million acquisition of producing oil and gas assets.; Conducted due diligence and advised a publicly traded oil and gas company in the $250 million acquisition of oil and gas assets in Oklahoma.; Represented an oil and gas company in the $220 million acquisition and due diligence of assets in the Bakken Shale.; Represented an exploration and production company in the negotiation and acquisition of hundreds of oil and gas leases in Texas.; Represented numerous publicly traded and independent oil and gas companies with their upstream exploration and production operations.; The above representations were handled by Mr. Gonzalez prior to his joining Greenberg Traurig, LLP.
