What are you most proud of in your practice?
We’ve served hundreds of clients over a number of years in very complex and multifaceted litigation and disputes. We have been able to achieve victory for almost all of them while accomplishing important business and personal goals for each of these clients, protecting important rights that may otherwise have been lost.
Who has inspired you in your career?
One of the greatest influences on my life has been my college football coach at the University of Alabama, Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. The life lessons I learned from him extended far beyond the field of athletic competition and directly relate to the life-impacting competition when I engage as I handle complex litigation for our clients. Coach Bryant taught the importance of not only desiring victory, but also aspiring to be a champion. He taught me the necessity to formulate a comprehensive game plan, which is based on thorough research and preparation, and then doing the hard work necessary to execute the plan to achieve victory. This same formula has worked well in addressing the many complex challenges we have had the privilege to undertake and overcome for our clients.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is having the privilege to work with clients who are facing what may well be their most difficult and trying challenges in life. To be able to help them gain a proper perspective and successfully navigate through each of the challenges they face is quite satisfying. This includes not only addressing each of the legal issues and obstacles they may face, but also dealing with and overcoming the pressures and problems such legal challenges bring with them. One of my greatest satisfactions in life is to achieve a good result and experience the genuine expressions of gratitude from a client. As one said recently to me, “Thank you for protecting me and my company and giving me and my family our lives back.” It doesn’t get better than that for me.
