USCIS reports that, because of the continued high volume of H-1B cap filings, agency Service Centers are delayed in issuing filing receipts for Form I-129 petitions. Filing receipts are normally issued within 30 days after a case is delivered for standard processing, but it may take up to 60 days or more for a receipt to be issued while filing volume remains high.
USCIS advises employers and their immigration counsel to contact the appropriate Service Center if a receipt is not received within 60 days after confirmed delivery of an I-129 filing.
The receipt delay is expected to continue until filing volume subsides. USCIS is currently receiving roughly 5,000 new H-1B I-129 cases per week.
