The U.S. Consulate in Chennai, India is closed through Friday, September 21, due to security concerns stemming from protests throughout the city. Visa interviews and processing are suspended during the closure. The consulate could remain closed during the week of September 24 to 28 if security concerns persist.
Foreign nationals with visa appointments scheduled for this week will be able to reschedule in the VFS scheduling system.
