  • On Thursday, March 2, the Senate Judiciary Committee began debating immigration reform, with the hope of producing a draft bill by the end of March. Whether the Committee can meet this timetable is open to question. Republicans appeared to be sharply split over whether to focus solely on heightened enforcement of our borders, or whether to adopt comprehensive reforms, including controversial guest worker provisions.
