- U.S. Consulates in Canada Suspend Third-Country-National (TCN) Visa Applications for the Summer Months
- June 9, 2014
- Law Firm: Foster LLP - Houston Office
- Citing increased demand for services by Canada-based visa applicants during the peak demand period of June, July and August, the U.S. Department of State confirmed yesterday that U.S. consular posts in Canada have temporarily suspended the acceptance and processing of visa applications from third country nationals (non-Canadians usually living and working in the United States).
The Department of State has confirmed that applicants who already have appointments scheduled during these months will be unaffected by the suspension and should plan to appear for their appointments as scheduled. Additionally, the Embassy has provided an avenue for considering emergency requests in appropriate circumstances.
As always, FosterQuan will continue to monitor changes in the processes and procedures of U.S. consular posts and will make updates available as appropriate via our firm’s website and in future Immigration Updates.©
