Phil Ripani is of counsel in the Labor and Employment Group. Mr. Ripani represents employers in labor and employment matters regarding employee benefits, immigration, employment discrimination, employee misconduct, collective bargaining and contract disputes, and other general employment issues. He helps company management with additional labor issues, including union prevention, hiring, discipline and retention of employees, wage and hour, and plant closing issues. He also aids businesses before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services with immigration issues surrounding intra-company (L visa) international transferred employees and obtaining visa status for foreign employees. He advises employers concerning I-9 verification compliance, E-Verify and related immigration - employment enforcement. He has helped companies, colleges and universities, foreign workers and their families to obtain or extend appropriate temporary and immigrant status visas, including H-1B special occupation visas, H-2B temporary visas and H-3 training visas, E visas, and student visas. Mr. Ripani also works with employers and their employee’ s families on permanent residence visa status both with adjustment of status and consular processing. He has obtained appropriate visas for professional football players, and P-1 and/or O-1 status for professional race car drivers, race engineers, and team managers in the motor sports industry. Mr. Ripani also is a member of the firm’ s Data Breach Response Team, which assists clients with proper notification of agencies and affected entities when data security issues arise. Mr. Ripani is licensed to practice law in Indiana.
