Dallas, DFW, Houston, Texas Paternity Attorneys

If you are involved in a dispute regarding the paternity of a minor child, whether you are seeking visitation, custody or support, you need an experienced lawyer to explain your rights, get results in court or at the negotiating table, and help you through the process. Signing the wrong document or making the wrong statement at the wrong time can severely affect your rights. You need an attorney who understands the law and the process, one who has protected the rights of other parents in similar situations.

At the law office of Bailey & Galyen, our paternity attorneys bring extensive experience to parents across Texas who have a child-related dispute which run the gamut from child support, paternity, grandparents' rights, to termination of parental rights. We place a premium on personal service and attention, always responding promptly to your phone calls or e-mails, and keeping you fully informed of all developments in your case. We believe in a high level of communication and encourage you to bring all your questions and concerns to us. Helping You Resolve a Paternity Dispute

In Texas, paternity may be established in the courts with a written acknowledgement of the father or based on evidence provided by either party. Simply being listed on the birth certificate does not conclusively establish a man as the father, but only creates a presumption of paternity. DNA testing is frequently used as evidence to support a finding of paternity.

At Bailey & Galyen, we will represent either party in a paternity proceeding, whether you seek to establish or refute biological fatherhood. If paternity is established, we will take all the steps necessary to protect your rights, including establishing proper parental rights and duties, a visitation schedule, and child support to ensure the child's best interests are met and goals achieved.
