Our practice team is familiar with a broad range of aviation-related cases, from simple and local to complex and multi-jurisdictional. Some stem from high-profile air disasters in which hundreds of millions of dollars are at stake. Others involve aviation claims and litigation, including insurance, reinsurance and subrogation. While experienced in litigation, trial and appellate work, we also pride ourselves in counseling clients on how best to avoid lawsuits.

Triggered by calls to a special “hot line,” our attorneys travel to accident locations in order to assist clients during the critical early hours of an investigation. Once on-site, we immediately assesses the situation, determining what steps are necessary to preserve evidence, ensure that privileges remain intact and otherwise protect the best interests of our clients. During the course of our response, we continually advise clients of our findings, key issues and further investigations that may be necessary. We also can assist clients in adopting proven processes and procedures and serve as their liaison to key regulatory agencies.

We are also at the forefront of developments in satellite and space technology and their commercial, industrial and military applications. In collaboration with aerospace scientists, our attorneys apply astute analysis in reaching innovative solutions in this complex area of law.

Many of our practice group members are engineers and pilots who understand and are able to simplify the complicated technical issues that define the aviation industry. These years of practical experience strengthen their interactions in and out of court and help keep legal expenses from spiraling out of control. Our attorneys also enjoy strong ties to the National Transportation Safety Board, Federal Aviation Administration and U.S. Customs Bureau, allowing them to guide clients through the industry’s regulatory labyrinth and to realize successful outcomes.
