  • In our recent Intellectual Property Alert dated September 7, 2011, we reported that the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act (H.R. 1249), then under vote in Congress, was expected to be quickly approved and presented to President Obama for signature. Today, expectation has become reality as President Obama signed the bill into law, putting into effect the most sweeping change to U.S. patent law since 1952, when the current U.S. Patent Statute was enacted.
