Attorney Henry Weiner, a member of Meissner Tierney's transactional practice group, authored an article for the State Bar of Wisconsin's Business Law Blog entitled "You Snooze, You Lose: The Doctrine of Laches in Trademark Enforcement."
Henry's article examines the recent trademark case Dropbox, Inc. v. Thru Inc. and the decision by United States District Court for the Northern District of California to throw out trademark infringement claims against Silicon Valley giant Dropbox based on the doctrine of laches. Its outcome serves as a useful warning for businesses big and small against complacency and "gotcha" tactics in trademark enforcement.
