  • This February, Spain's most prominent arbitration association, the Spanish Arbitration Club (Club EspaƱol de Arbitraje), launched its first Code of Good Arbitration Practice (Code). The purpose of the Code is to merge internationally accepted arbitration practices, procedures and rules into a concise model code that can be adopted by various arbitral institutions. The new Code is an instrument long awaited and much needed in Spain, a country whose arbitration institutions have, in the past, been poorly equipped to handle international arbitrations. Thankfully, this trend is changing. Spain is surfacing as the ideal seat for international arbitrations.
