  • Andrew Bowden, the Director of the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE), is leaving the agency. OCIE is responsible for examinations of, among other entities, registered investment advisers. The SEC’s press release announcing Mr. Bowden’s departure notes that during his tenure Mr. Bowden helped lead a number of initiatives. Among others, he lead the “Never-Before-Examined” initiative in which OCIE examined investment advisers that previously had not been examined, including advisers to private funds. The SEC has not announced Mr. Bowden’s replacement.
