Attorney Awards

I am a personal injury and wrongful death attorney. Although my plan was to become a physician, I decided to change my career path as a result of injuries I suffered on the job. While I finished my undergraduate degree at UW, I worked as a laborer and carpenter. On October 10, 2002, a roofing subcontractor's negligence caused me to fall approximately 20 feet, leaving me wheelchair bound for two years. I became frustrated with the Industrial Insurance (workers compensation) system. As a result of my frustration, I started contacting attorneys. Unfortunately, more than 80 law firms declined to represent me. Ultimately, I convinced an attorney to help me by agreeing to work on my own case with him. After navigating the court system, my case settled within weeks of trial. My physical and mental recovery gave me a real life perspective on the struggles faced by injured persons and motivated me to become an attorney.I am lucky enough to say that I have recovered and that my injuries probably led to me meeting my wife. I love advocating for individuals who are in the position I once found myself. My wife, Lauren, and I live in the Ames Lake region of Carnation, Washington. We have one son, Alexander, and a little girl, Emmy. I grew up in Billings, Montana, and moved to Seattle to play baseball at the University of Washington.
