Mr. Thompson joined Coughlin & Gerhart, LLP in 1975 and is a Partner in the firm. He is a member of the firm's Real Estate, Trusts & Estates, and Business & Banking Practice Groups. His practice experience has extended into all areas of real estate, with a recent emphasis into the oil and gas development and leasing area. His business practice has focused upon small business enterprises, sales, purchases of businesses and certain regulated industries, mostly in the telecommunications field. Mr. Thompson also assists clients regularly in the areas of estate planning and administration, business succession planning, and elder law issues.

Thompson has been, and continues to be, an involved member of the Broome County Bar Association. Thompson is native of Binghamton and a devoted supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton, having served as a past President.
