Important Litigation Involvement

•Currently serves as national managing counsel for a company's mass tort asbestos litigation. Through this role, Marcy develops cost-efficient litigation strategies for defending asbestos lawsuits, and implements the strategy through the company's national network of local counsel.
•Lead local/Mississippi counsel on the trial team that obtained a defense jury verdict on retrial in a Mississippi asbestos drilling mud lawsuit after the Mississippi Supreme Court removed the original trial judge and the “largest single-plaintiff asbestos award in U.S. history” - $322 million - was vacated.
•Lead local/Mississippi counsel on the trial team which obtained a take-nothing defense verdict in Mississippi asbestos drilling mud lawsuit in Jones County, MS.
•Lead Mississippi defense counsel in asbestos drilling mud trial in Smith County that lead to a judgment notwithstanding the verdict.
•Local and Regional Trial Counsel for several companies involved in asbestos and silica litigation.
•Currently leads the Jury Selection Group in the firm to assist defendants throughout the country in selection of juries in mass tort cases to ensure transparency in the jury selection process.
•Serves as coordinating counsel for the Defense Liaison Committee for MDL 875 in Philadelphia, PA and represents a number of companies in the joint defense of pending cases. She has received dismissals in almost 100, 000 cases.
•Serves on the Defense Liaison Committee in the MARDOC MDL Litigation, and secured dismissals from the plaintiffs' attorneys on all 42, 000 cases only as to clients represented by Forman Watkins Krutz & Tardy LLP.
•Served as lead negotiator for many companies in complex mass tort settlements involving cases across the country.
•Served as lead defense counsel in cases involving asbestos, drilling mud additives and other toxic tort litigation.
