Mark L. Aronowitz: Attorney with The Spence Law Firm, LLC


Mark is originally from New York, and he received his undergraduate degree in English with a minor in History from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He took a teaching position in Wyoming with the Teton Science School, where he taught environmental education courses in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Mark earned his law degree in from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon in 2005. After graduating, Mark moved back to Wyoming and became an associate lawyer for the Spence Law Firm in 2006. In 2008, Mark was promoted to serve as the Executive Director of Lawyers and Advocates for Wyoming. Mark lives south of Jackson with his wife and daughter.

As director of the public interest law firm Lawyers and Advocates for Wyoming (L.A.W.), Mark is developing the Spence Association for Employee Rights (SAFER). SAFER is a nonprofit public interest L.A.W. project, focusing on workplace safety and other issues effecting Wyoming’s workforce. In 2008 and 2009, Mark played an integral part in passing legislation that improved workers’ compensation benefits paid to injured workers and their families. Read more here

In 2009 and 2010, Mark worked with the Wyoming Access to Justice Commission to secure legislation and funding for the Wyoming Center for Legal Aid where he currently serves on the initial Board of Commissioners.

In 2011 and 2012, Mark worked with a small coalition of workplace safety advocates to improve Wyoming OSHA and workplace safety. This coalition also organized the first annual Wyoming Workers’ Memorial Day which was held in Casper in May.

Mark is extremely proud to partner with citizens, workers, worker advocates and legislators, regardless of political party, to create, enforce and enhance workplace safety programs and conditions as well as improving access to justice throughout Wyoming.
